The Red Pill or the Blue Pill- Which One Will You Choose?

In the movie the Matrix, Morpheus offered Neo a choice—to take the blue pill and continue to live in the dream world, or take the red pill, shed his fantasy and wake up to the “real world.” Like Neo, we too can choose to live in bondage or freedom; in lies or the truth; in delusion or reality.

For many of us, the prospect of living in the truth of the “real world”  is too difficult to even think about, so we opt for the blue pill and choose to stay in the dream world, even when living in the dream feels nightmarish. We want more for our lives but can never seem to achieve it. We have dreams for ourselves that seem always just out of reach. Eventually we start to rehearse an inner dialogue that justifies our lot in life…

“That’s just the way I am”

“It is what it is”

“I’ll never ____.” (You fill in the blank).

And so we lose and gain the same 10 pounds over and over again. Or, we try to be perfect, which only leads to  self-loathing and am over-attention to inadequacies when we inevitably fail. We admonish ourselves to “get it together.” We keep falling “off the wagon”.  Life in the dream world.

What if you dared to challenge the dream world and found the courage to take the red pill?

You would become more aware and more “knowing”. You would be presented with an alternative way of living.  You would see the world in an entirely new way and you would be empowered to do things you could have never done before. All from a simple decision—freedom over bondage; truth over lies; reality instead of delusion.

Maybe it’s time you pick the red pill and see how far the rabbit hole goes
