My name is Aryanna Sahagun and I am currently an undergraduate at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I originally planned on majoring in Nutrition going into my freshman year, but I fell in love with everything fitness and changed my major soon after. I have, since then, been pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science and Health Promotion. I have been given the awesome opportunity of being an intern for Phenomenal Fitness.
Since I was young, I have always been surrounded by and involved in sports; I played volleyball for six consecutive years and soccer for one. What interested me the most about playing these sports was the strength and conditioning training that we did at the end of practices. The more I performed these exercises, the more I wanted to learn. In the Summer of 2018, I assisted in training athletes on getting faster, stronger, improving their agility, and reaction time. This helped me gain knowledge and experience on what it’s like, not being the athlete, but being the one training the athlete.
As an intern here at Phenomenal Fitness, I aspire to gain as much experience and knowledge as I can in order to prepare me to train any individual. I would like to learn more about catering to the specific needs of the person and learning different techniques and approaches, as well. While working at Phenomenal Fitness, I am certain I will learn all I wish to learn and much more.
